holy wow the holidays have just flown by. christmas was awesome, spent with just mom and i. she came up to visit.... wait, let me back up. plans for christmas this year were to have everyone come and stay in my new house {that i was supposed to move into in october}. it still isn't finished, so plans changed. i feel like a gypsy, staying where i can {and so so so thankful for the friends who've offered to give me a roof over my head until this big fat mess of a building a house process is over!} anyway, christmas morning mom and i had breakfast at ihop on the way up to her hotel in slc. eating out on christmas was a new adventure. so was spending it with just mom and i. it was quiet, low key. but i loved it. i got to reflect on all of the blessings i already have in my life rather than things i want. i really am so incredibly blessed.
since christmas was over in a flash, and work has me thinking of new years... i wanted to pick a word to focus on over the next year.
wouldn't you know, the silhouette blog had the perfect picture... ;) i made it to hang in my office at work as a reminder. my word for the year is story.
why i chose the word i did... some things to think about, and good reminders...
everyone has a story. all of them are worth telling.
there are two sides to every story, don't pass judgement on one side alone.
we don't know everyone's story, be less quick to judge
my story is worth telling - write more, scrapbook more, LIVE more
live life in a way you would want to have your story told
you write your own story by the choices that you make. even the little ones, make them count.
not all stories are fairytales, and that's ok
because it is my story... i'm actually going to have 2 little words for 2013. the second one is 'change'. lots of them coming my way. here's to embracing them... and making some of them stick!
thanks for stopping by!
