it's been a while...

since i've done a good ol' fashioned thrift-over... yesterday was one of the hottest days of summer so, to celebrate (haha) i decided to spend all afternoon in the heat painting :) and have the sunburn to show for it (OUCH!) but...the good news...

i have been searching for probably a good year for a jewelry box that was "me" and that would hold all of my fun jewelry... and yesterday at the goodwill no less.. there it was... with potential written all over it. i had to buy it, along with a chair, frame, pot, glass pastry cover ... *grin* it was a good thrifting day what can i say? :) anyway back to the jewelry box. it reminded me of a classic style dresser and the hardware on it is detailed just right! i hadn't even noticed when i bought it that it was also a music box that plays "strangers in the night" lol an added bonus!!

here are the before and after... i'm still pondering the idea of distressing... hmmmm
