even though life is challenging, i feel like (especially lately) that i would find more joy in the valleys so to speak if i make more of an effort to look for things to be thankful for. quite fitting i guess since this month we celebrate thanksgiving, i am giving myself a blog challenge. each day I will blog about something i am thankful for! since i missed the 1st two days of the month... allow me to play catch up :)
1... for the last several weeks i have had my sister and nephew over for dinner on monday and tuesday nights. i am thankful for these nights for several reasons...
~ i get the chance to hang out with my sister who is one of my best friends. she
listens to me and gives me good advice. she cries with me, encourages me and
laughs at me.. which is ok too :)
~ i get to work on my cooking skills and have someone there to eat what i make :). i
have learned several new recipes and have been trying new things
~ i get to say the prayer at dinner and help my nephew say it occasionally too. we
also have good talks about school and making good choices
2... I have really great visiting teachers! They are genuinely interested in how I am and the things that are going on in my life and bring with them an amazing spirit!
3... what I am thankful for today is spam email ... lol ok not really, but somehow I got on this LDS living email list and in todays email from them one of the headlines was "President Uchtdorf: Realize Your Worth" So, I followed the link to the article written about a CES talk to that was given on Sunday and it sounded like a good one. So I went HERE and listened to it. A M A Z I N G I say! :) It is definitely worth checking out!
what are YOU thankful for today?
Char, I hope you don't mind, but I love your site. I am grateful for the example that your family is to me. I know that you think that is funny, but really I think you have a great one. Debbi (Donna and KEn's friend from NM)
