fall isn't something that technically happens here ... the trees don't turn from green to pretty reds and orange.. they mostly turn brown and then fall off... haha.. but I noticed tonight that it is starting to cool down in the evenings... and cool air always makes me think of fall... but the first thing that came to mind tonight... was CAMPING!! Wishing I had a group of friends that liked to do that sort of thing... wearing sweatshirts, sitting around a campfire, schaub- kabobs for breakfast, foil dinners, stars, crisp night air, sleeping bags, rain, games, naps, hikes, fishing even... I want to go camping!
**for you"city folk" a schaub-kabob is taking biscuit dough and wrapping it around the end of a wooden dowel (making sure to cover the end to ensure there isn't a hole) then hold the biscuit over some hot coals until puffy and golden brown, pull them off the end of the stick and drizzle, butter, honey, jam or other sweet goodness down in the center and enjoy... YUMMMM)**
HAve you seen my blog? We just took our ward camping and taught them Schaub-Kabobs. It was a hit!
ReplyDeletemosquitos, snakes, spiders, being eaten by bears, unfiltered non-purified water, outdoor latrines, being crushed by a falling pine tree, psycho axe killers living in the forest...
